Сегодня в Бостоне теплый и слегка облачный день. А еще сегодня в Бостоне парад в честь победи Бостон Селтикс над ЛА Лейкерс и долгожданного звания Чемпионов НБА. Что бы отметить такую благодатную погоду мы совершили велосипедную прогулку вдоль Чарлс ривер и приближаясь к даунтауну заметили других "отмечающих" - зеленно-белую толпу болельшиков, декларируюших свои Ирландские корни и пожизненню преданность Шамроку. Никакой день Св. Патрика на Вест Коусте не сравнился бы с количеством зелених ряс в етой толпе.

Мы направились против движения толпы, в надежде что у ее источника мы найдем знаменитый Фенвей Парк. Но так не вышло. По дороге мы наткнулись на очень симпатичний розовый сад, потом на огороды... вот-вот, именно огороды - с грядками и клумбами. В самом центре города, межды рекой и Пруденшиал билдинг! Потом, как бы что б окончательно доказать нам что на улице лето, ми остановились в тени большой раскидистой.... шелковицы! точнее - белой шелковицы.

Но это не основная причина по которой мы не выехали к Фенвею... А основная - это то, что там играют в бейсбол, а выиграли баскетболисты... Торможение.

Walking into a restaurant, the first thing we see is a bunch of cops, as in, police officers, standing around the bar and drinking beer. At a closer inspection, it became clear that all of them were wearing kilts and carrying large musical instrumets. What the... Turned out they were all in a band warming up for a performance later that night. And as they proceded to go outside (perhaps for a puff of fresh air), one of the officers was refusing to leave his beer behind!!!

как запахи все же въедаются в память... Сегодня распаковала специи привезенные из Индии (так, что теперь у полочки появилась соседка) и я сразу же ощутила себя на суб-континенте. Раскопала листочки на которых нацарапывала рецепты на голодный желудок в каком то cooking классе и стала разбираться.

А мораль вот в чем - если бы я не прокрастенировала, фиг бы когда то посмотрела, что я там выцарапывала на голодный желудок в cooking классе Кочине.

About a film

A couple of weeks ago the respectable members of the Academy Awards told us which movies and actors earned their votes for the Bests of the year. A bit surprising was the female best actor winner Marion Cotillard for her role in Edith Piaf. This reminded me about another French film that was out at about the same time, I think it was June of last year - Paris, Je T'aime. All I knew about it was that it starred Natalie Portman, Elijah Wood, Juliette Binoche and many, many accomplished French and American actors. Last night I decided to exercise the power of my fingertips and streamed the movie from Netflix. I only watched the first hour and a half so far, and while Natalie Portman has not appeared yet, the movie took me on the most seductively emotional and a little amusing ride I've ever experienced from a film. It's happy love and sad love and pathetic and innocent and longing and all of it, filtered through my impressionable eyes, made for a lot of wet tissues and very puffy eyes in the morning. Oi, I think I'm crying again... Somebody save the keyboard…

Ура! Я посетила спорт-зал, уже дважды. Нет, это не просто спорт-зал, это целый коунтри-клуб. Все так красиво, фишимебельно. Это не просто вылаз в спорт-зал, это выход в люди. Все такие красивые, ну you know...

Akmokanzen, я ведь так соскучилась по нашим вторникам в бане... А здесь тебе пожалуйста - и джакузи, и сауна, и стим-рум... конечно без привычних нам экстемальностей корейской бани (и, к сожалению, в купальнике), но все же... попариться можно.
